IT Administrator
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for a versatile IT Administrator to support all aspects of our IT system and its users. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: maintaining system access and security for our network according to company policies; troubleshooting hardware and software issues; managing and maintaining network equipment, printers, copiers, phone system, and other systems related to the business; assisting departments with custom report development in our ERP system when requested, making suggestions on an enterprise or department level that will increase efficiency, and working with our parent company on larger IT projects.


The successful candidate will have at least 2+ years experience in networking, TCP-IP, Microsoft Office, smart switches, laptop/computer configuration, troubleshooting computer/network-related issues, and have excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills. Candidate with QAD experience and/or Openedge programming are highly desirable, but this is not a requirement for the position.Candidates who are bilingual in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese are also highly desirable, but this is also not a requirement for the position.

This if a full-time, exempt position and the annual pay range is $70K to $80K DOE.

Programmer Analyst I
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is hiring an Programmer Analyst I to join its IT team in Ventura, CA. Your primary duties include programming our ERP software (QAD), performing Linux and WEB scripting, and potentially doing other general programming.


You must have a background in programming ERP software (2+ years), preferably using the QAD ERP system and Openedge programming. You must also have experience with Red Hat / MS Windows OS, and experience with PHP, ASPA, Java, and HTML is a plus. You must also have knowledge of RDMS.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position and the pay range is $35.00/hr to $45.50/hr. (approx. $72k-$94k annually). Successful applicant must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

GTAW Welder Level 2 - Round Rock, Texas
Round Rock, TX

Valex Corp is looking for a GTAW Welder to join its team in Round Rock, Texas. Below are the duties,  qualifications, and some environmental information relating to the position.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Assembly, fabrication, and GTAW of high purity stainless steel process piping systems for semiconductor, medical pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and aerospace industries 
  • Programming, set-up and running of various welding machines. Combining manual GTAW machines and automated orbital welding machines to weld stainless steels and other high purity alloys 
  • Be proficient in welding all positions: 1G, 2G, 5G, 6G, and using a positioner 
  • Be proficient in complete joint penetration on square butt joints, and fillet welding of Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Hastelloy, Inconel, and Titanium. Thickness ranging from .035”-.125” tubing and up to 6” Sch. 40 pipe 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 3% or below 
  • Understand AWS weld symbols 
  • Must be able to interpret welding procedure specifications  
  • Manufacture product that meets customer requirements and expectations. Inspect and verify work before submitting for inspection. 
  • Fabricate within dimensional tolerances as low as 0.010” and angle tolerances as low as 0.5 degrees  
  • Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations
  • Work as a team member to aid others in encouraging and maintaining departmental standards including quality and on-time delivery goals 
  • Assist the shop with general upkeep
  • Record and track daily operations 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with GTAW welding process and supporting functions for tube weldment manufacturing 
  • Must have knowledge of welding with internal argon purge achieving 10 PPM
  • Must have knowledge of metallurgy, primarily stainless steels  
  • Basic PC skills for manufacturing 
  • Working knowledge of 6S and Lean principles
  • Working knowledge of copy exact and documentation control
  • Basic math skills; add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Competency in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees read, write, and comprehend simple instructions 
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to use various inspections tools: calipers, protractor, height gage, etc. 
  • Ability to use various shop tools 

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • High School diploma preferred; and/or equivalent
  • One year certificate from college, technical school, as in welding, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • ASME AWS Certifications are a plus but not required

    Manufacturing Engineer Technican
    Round Rock, TX

    The Manufacturing Engineer Technician derives his/her authority from the Engineering Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer Technician has sufficient authority to exercise the responsibilities and perform the duties assigned by the Engineering Manager.

    Duties:

    Support and execute all policies, agreements, procedures, guidelines, and goals set forth by Valex Corp.

    Responsible for performing all Manufacturing Engineering Technician related tasks as it relates to the engineering department for the Round Rock, TX site.

    Create internal and external quotes for customer supplied drawings and specifications.

    Possess the ability to work with the Valex ERP / QAD software as well as being competent in Windows & Solid Works / ACAD.

    Access Valex customer portals and work within the guidelines of those portals for retrieving and submitting drawings, change orders, proposals, schedules, and other customer needs as it relates to engineering.

    Assist the Cost Estimating Supervisor in developing and maintaining the training program as required to meet the needs of the costing department.

    Utilize the Valex ERP system to create bills of materials, shop floor routers and item data entry.

    Creation and markup of CAD drawings for both internal and external customers.

    Interacting with various shop personnel and perform time studies at various work centers for continuous improvement purposes.

    Maintain customer drawings and products within the ERP system.

    Interface with the manufacturing and costing departments for customer quotations of special and new products.

    Assist with interpreting customer requests and drawings to be able to answer engineering and costing questions.

    Day to day maintenance and data entry into ERP and customer data bases.

    Develop work bench instructions and flow diagrams that clearly describe the costing processes.

    Review customer provided drawings for manufacturability prior to handing off to costing.

    Ability to calculate weld shrinkage and bend radius to ensure manufacturing accuracy of weldments.

    Propose manufacturing process, material size and or equivalents to achieve best cost and reduce lead time.

    Work closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Sales, and Supply Chain Management to meet customer expectations.

    Understand customer statement of work, drawings, and documentation to ensure we can build to the customer specifications.

    Initiate cost-reduction activities to improve quoting accuracy and speed.

    Strong communication and organizational skills

    Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment activities.

    Design manufacturing fixtures and work instructions to aid in manufacturing with input from production personnel.

    Minimum Requirements:

    High School degree required, preferred associates or equivalent.

    Preferred 2+ years of costing/manufacturing/engineering experience.

    Preferred 2+ years of utilizing ERP and Shop Floor Control systems.
